One Book One Bozeman 2010
All of Bozeman – including MSU’s incoming freshmen – will be reading local author Kevin Michael Connolly’s memoir, Double Take this fall. Look for events in cooperation with the library and MSU, including the freshman convocation that will be free, open to the public, and held at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. We have signed hardcover copies ($19.99) and the newly-released paperback ($14.99) in stock.

2009 Montana Book Awards
Congratulations to Jamie Ford, author of Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, the most recent winner of the Montana Book Award. This book is now in paperback, and we have a limited number of signed copies.

The 2008 reading selection for the state of Montana is Hattie Big Sky by Kirby Larson. We at the Country Bookshelf read this book early and recommend it highly. As a bonus, this book is both accessible and appropriate for adults and teens. It is available in paperback for $8.99.

One Book – One Bozeman
For 2009, the local selection is The Soloist: A Lost Dream, an Unlikely Friendship, and the Redemptive Power of Music by Steve Lopez ($15). This book is also the Montana State University 2009 Freshman Convocation read.
Bozeman’s fall 2008 community read was Mountains Beyond Mountains: The Quest of Dr. Paul Farmer, a Man Who Would Cure the World by Tracy Kidder (paper biography $15.95).
Unofficially, the 2007 local book was Greg Mortenson’s Three Cups of Tea (available in hardcover or paper on display in the front $25.95/$15). This book is now available in a young reader’s version and a picture book version for smaller children.
