  • Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan – very interesting

  • How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell
  • Assassination Vacation by Sarah Vowell – okay. good history but a little dry
  • The Help by Kathryn Stockett – loved it!
  • The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo – Good!
  • Scat by Carl Hiaasen – Loved it!
  • The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke – Really good. Kids loved it.
  • Horns & Wrinkles by Joseph Helgerson- Really fun – good to read aloud.
  • The Help by Kathryn StockettĀ - Great book
  • Mudbound by Hillary Jordan – Loved it!
  • The Birth House by Ami McKay- loved it
  • Lucky by Alice Sebold- Very emotional – good
  • Red River by Lalita Tademy- Great book, historical fiction
  • Spot of Bother by Mark Haddon- Loved it
  • The Shack by William P. Young – Surprising; makes you think
  • Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner- Fun, a bit predictable but good
  • The Wyrm King – Spiderwick – 3rd book of the 2nd series; good so far!
